GUANGZHOU, China, September 9, 2026 — Burning Rock Biotech Limited (“Burning Rock”) announced that its CanCatch Custom Kit (cPAS), a WES-based tumor-informed personalized MRD kit, has entered the Special Review Procedure for Innovative Medical Devices of China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).

Burning Rock’s WES-based tumor-informed personalized MRD technology platform is the only platform of its kind in China admitted to the procedure. Built on this platform, Burning Rock has developed two WES-based MRD kits covering lung and esophageal cancers, expanding its clinical applications from recurrence monitoring to perioperative precision assessment. These milestones demonstrate the scalability of the platform across products, cancer types, and clinical applications.

CanCatch Custom Kit (cPAS) uses whole-exome sequencing (WES) and proprietary algorithms to identify patient-specific tumor mutations and design personalized probes, with a limit of detection (LoD) reaching the 10⁻⁵–10⁻⁶ range. The kit is compatible with MGI’s high-throughput sequencing platform, combining Burning Rock’s independently developed MRD technology with a domestically developed sequencing platform.

Building on these advances, Burning Rock will continue to expand its WES-based tumor-informed personalized MRD technology across products and clinical applications under regulatory guidance, bringing precision oncology innovations to more patients.
